Should You Try to Make Money Parking Domains, or Concentrate on Developing the Ones You've Got? |

In the world of domain names, there are currently two schools of thought. One school insists that you can still make money parking domains, that is sitting on domain names until you can unload them at a profit. The other school of thought says that you when you acquire ownership of domain names that instead of trying to make money parking domains you should work to develop the value inherent in each domain name through posting interesting, worthwhile content and linking to other relevant sites. The idea here is that you make your site important by attracting as many hits as possible and working to raise your standing in the search engine rankings. This, some investors insist, is the only way to make money from domain names. And there may be more truth to this idea than there was a few years ago. Face it, the list of domain extensions is shrinking, so there's a smaller pool each year of viable, salable domain names. I think, that if I had a choice, I would go with trying to develop my domain names into something valuable, rather than just trying to make money parking domains. You could wind up spending a lot of money that way, and then be stuck with nearly worthless domain names. |
